HOLIDAY GOLF TOURNAMENTS or HOLIDAY LUNCH!
Suggest committee members and pro shop staff wear red Santa hats or Snowmen top hats. Request members wear red or a fun holiday hat. How about decorating a golf hat or tennis visor with candy canes, jingle bells, dreidels, Christmas trees or other fun holiday crafts. Prizes can be awarded for the best hat. Make sure holiday goodies and drinks are offered! Here are a few ideas for tournament play. Try a Snowman Themed Day:
SNOWMAN OPTION 1
Have the pro shop draw a large snowman in the middle of one of the fairways. This should be fairly easy by just making three different size circle – each getting smaller and making a top hat on the smallest circle. Obviously it is more difficult to hit the Top Hat or the head since those are further away from the tee box and smaller. Different prizes are awarded for the degree of difficulty. This could also be the longest drive hole by awarding a prize for anyone who can hit a drive into his Top Hat! Each player has a flag, paper stocking or some creative way to mark their drives. Our Snowman Ball Markers (RL-25) or Snowman Hat Clips (1107) would make great prizes for this event!
SNOWMAN OPTION 2
Make it a real SNOWMAN tournament! Keep the tournament criteria a Secret until the cards are collected. Then award the person with the most "SNOWMEN" that is, an 8 or the fewest "SNOWMEN." Be prepared to have multiple winners!
As a gift from Santa everyone could drop their highest score. (Obviously the correct score would be turned in for handicap.)
RED & GREEN TOURNAMENT
The tournament committee could color alternate holes red and green on the Tournament Cards. The winners would be the lowest scores on "red" holes and the lowest score on "green" holes. This is a variation of the "even" and "odd" tournament.
